Stoelzle Flaconnage reported that a fire occurred at its glass plant in Knottingley, UK, on 12 July; all employees were safely evacuated.

The fire broke out the evening of Saturday, 12 July 2025, at the production facility in West Yorkshire, England.

Emergency services responded swiftly, with twelve fire crews deployed to the site.

Stoelzle Glass Group expressed its deep gratitude to the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service for their outstanding effort and professionalism.

Thanks to the rapid response of emergency services and the calm actions of the on-site team, all employees were safely evacuated.

There were no serious injuries; a few individuals were treated for mild smoke inhalation and have since returned home.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are currently underway, and Stoelzle is fully co-operating with the relevant authorities.

Dr August Grupp, CEO of the Stoelzle Glass Group, said: “Ensuring uninterrupted service to our customers is our highest priority.

“We have activated our Business Continuity Plan and are reallocating future production through our sister facilities within Europe.”

All efforts across the Stoelzle network are now focused on supporting the recovery of the Knottingley site.

While the full extent of the damage is still being assessed, the management remains confident in its ability to resume operations in full strength as soon as possible.

The Stoelzle Glass Group is a family-run company with five European plants and one in the US.

The group has been producing glass packaging for the spirits, pharmaceutical, perfumery & cosmetics, and food & beverage markets for over 200 years.
